The 249 MAC, iirc was the serialized portion of a MAC welded to the side of a 249 receiver. Apparently atf got it to run without an AR lower. HK Sears were designed to convert HK packs, and HK packs fit on a variety of host HK 90 series weapons.The 8mm belt fed uppers were ruled to be machine guns on their own.
Attempting to apply logic and reason to the ATFs whims is pointless.But I thought the DIAS was registered as the "machine gun" so why does it matter what weapon in goes into?It matters because ATF has taken the stance that conversion devices can only be used in weapons that are (I forget the actual term) essentially the same as what they were originally designed for.ĭIAS was designed to convert AR15's, so it can't be used in AR10's.įNC seats were designed to be used in FNC's, so they can't be used in SCARs.ĪUG Sears were designed to be used in AUG's, so they can't be used to convert PS90's. (I have no NFA experience just a general knowledge of the law.)Off the top of my head, DIAS’s in ar10s is a no-no, fnc sears in SCARs, and I’m sure there are more. The ingenuity behind it is awesome Why wouldn't they? How is it any different that a AR upper with a Full auto carrier? Im really surprised the ATF lets that fly
